Steve Read is a British self-taught artist and illustrator whose work is well known among puzzle enthusiasts. He began his career as a mural designer and later spent around 20 years working as a freelance illustrator, creating artwork for advertising campaigns and licensed products, among other projects.
His work is highly diverse, ranging from picturesque landscapes and cosy interiors to fantasy scenes, animals, and illustrations with a more fairy-tale or Gothic character. His art is known for its abundance of detail, warm atmosphere, and elaborate compositions, making it particularly well suited to jigsaw puzzle designs.
