Pieces looking for a home
Missing puzzle pieces are a real bummer, but they can happen even with brand-new, factory-sealed sets.
Any seasoned puzzle enthusiast probably knows this already.
However, sometimes you get extra pieces 😮, or someone throws completely different pieces into a second-hand set 🥺
Situations vary, and I hated the idea of just tossing these stray pieces in the trash,
so I held onto them for a long time, hoping they might come in handy for someone someday.
That’s why I’ve launched the "Found" section today. These aren't "looking for a missing piece" ads.
It’s a gallery of pieces that already exist and could find their way to someone who is missing exactly that piece.
If you have pieces like this and agree with the idea, you can contribute to the gallery too.

How does it work?
You take a photo of the piece, select its shape (corner, edge, tabs, whimsy...), and that’s it...
You can also find the title in the catalog and link the piece to it,
or briefly write down your suspicions about the brand or series it might belong to.
Someone browses the gallery, clicks on the owner's profile, and sends them a message.
The piece is given away for free, but the person looking for it covers the shipping costs.

Where?
The "Found" section works on both the website and the app.
On the web, in the community section above the map and next to the "flow," there’s a banner leading to the gallery.
On a puzzle's page, if someone has uploaded a piece from that design, you’ll see a "patch" icon and the number of available pieces.
You can edit the pieces you’ve added and mark them as given away directly on the gallery tile.
In the app, that same "patch" icon appears on the home screen, right next to the scanner.
You can browse the gallery there, as well as add and edit your pieces.
